Way-Fil Jewelry
Way-Fil Jewelry of Tupelo, MS is a jewelry store that has served Northeast Mississippi since 1948.
The name "Way-Fil" is a combination of the orignal owners names, Wayne Hunter and Filmore McGuire. Back in the summer of 1948, these two Mississippi State University grads decided that since they had been keeping the books of a jewelry store, they had the inside track to start one of their own. Wayne's wife Margie came up with Way-Fil.
Today Way-Fil Jewelry is owned by Patti Thompson. She is a Certified Bench Jeweler (Jewelers of America) a Graduate Gemologist (GIA), a Certified Gemologist (American Gem Society) and a Certified Appraiser of Personal Property (International Society of Appraisers) with a speciality in Antique and Period Jewelry. Patti handles jewelry design, jewelry repair, and appraisals.

The best place to sell gold and coins
I finally realized I needed to sell my collection of silver and gold coins. I went to several places that advertised in the paper and I just didn't get a good vibe from them. Last week I saw the advertisement from Way-Fil Jewelry, that they buy gold and had private appointments available. I called and got an early morning appointment. What a difference it made to sit in Mrs. Thompson's office while she carefully explained to me the difference in costs for my collectable coins versus the liquidation value (she never used the word scrap..I liked that!) of my collection. The offer was very fair based on the prices that day and I didn't feel liked I'd been "hustled" or taken. When you get to be 70 you want someone that respects and cares that you get the best for your life's hobby. I'm going to tell everyone about my great experience with Way-Fil Jewelry.

Did you know Way-Fil Jewelry buys Silver coins?
I was looking for that place that had an ad in the paper about buying gold and silver coins. As usual, I couldn't find the right place, so I stopped in at Wayfil Jewelry to ask. The lady (I think Patti??) told me how to find the place I was looking for. She said if that didn't work for me to come back and she would be happy to make me an offer on my silver dollars. I thought I'd do better at the other place so I left. Well, I wasn't too happy about their offer on my granddaddy's silver dollars, so I went back to Wayfil. They offered me more and told me that the coins would be sold to other collectors around Tupelo.
I'm glad I stopped at the right place at the right time! Anybody that's got some coins to sell should go to Wayfil...they'll treat you good!

When you shop with Hometown folks....
I just wanted to tell all you people out there who think that you have to go to Memphis or New York to get a good deal on a diamond....Baloney! I bought my diamond from Wayfil Jewelers and got a better price than anyone on 42nd Street offered me for the same diamond...Mind you, I actually got the same diamond I was looking at up there from Wayfil and it was cheaper. That was a year ago. I needed to get my insurance agent a new appraisal and all I had to do was call the girls. They remembered me and had the updated appraisal ready in fifteen minutes. Now baby, that is service in my book!

Add a pearl necklace
Hi! I wanted to let you know how much I have enjoyed getting my daughter's and now my granddaughter 's add a pearl necklaces from Wayfil Jewelry. I started back in the late 1970's adding one pearl at a time for my duaghter's necklace. When she got married, her husband finished it for her wedding present. When she had our granddaughter, we started an add a pearl for our precious Allie. She's 13 now and well on her way to a beautiful pearl necklace. I love visiting with Patti when I come to Wayfil. She's always smiling and so nice! Thank you.

Sold my gold
I went to several places before I went to Way-Fil Jewelry. Everyone I went to had offered me a big difference in prices for my gold. But at Way-Fil, they explained to me what I had and what is worth. I was so impressed with their professional way of talking to me, that I went home and got online to write this. They are the nicest people.

I read the article in the Daily journal a couple of weeks back about taking your scrap gold stuff to a jewelry store instead of the CASH4Gold type places. And they were right! Way-Fil's Divas gave me $56.00 more than the buyers out at the hotel...Keep the party going DIVAS!

Cheaper than Sam's Club
I wanted a 1 carat diamond solitiare in yellow gold. Sam's Club said it would take six week. I went to Way-Fil and Patti said it would take about an hour. And to top it all...they were cheaper than Sam's for the same quality diamond!

Way-Fil fixed me up!
I wanted to let everyone know just how nice those ladies are at Way-Fil Jewelry. I'm new to Tupelo and I broke my silver bracelet today. When I lived in Jackson those snooty jewelry stores down there wouldn't have even buzzed me inside. But someone told me to go to Way-Fil and ask for Patty. It's a really nice looking store and I was getting ready for the boot out, but it didn't happen. Patty fixed my bracelet for five bucks! And she offered to clean my rings at NO CHARGE! Can you believe that??? It gets better. She kept my jewelry in plain sight. She didn't disappear into the back of the store...everything was done right in front of me! How amazing is that? I'll take the small shop everytime.
There is no way I would try to shop on of those mall stores this time of year. They're crowded and I have to park so far away from the door. My neighbor told me about Wayfil Jewelers and I wanted a new pair of pearl earrings for Christmas. What a difference shopping in a small store is. The ladies are friendly and smiling. They seem happy to be there to help me. I got my pearl earrings and a Hershey Kiss necklace for my daughter. I just wish they had more stuff for men and my shopping would be done. I really liked shopping at Wayfil Jewelers.

65th anniversary
Patty did the sweetest thing for us. It was our 65th wedding anniversary and I wanted to fix up my husband's old Masonic ring for him. It looked pretty bad when we took it in. But Patty fixed up the old ratty stone and made it beautiful again. I wish you could see my husband's face, it just lights up whenever he looks at his ring. Patty is just the kindest, sweetest person and I think everyone ought to use Way-Fil Jewelry when they can.

I broke my necklace
I wanted to say how lucky people in Tupelo are to have a place like Way-Fil Jewelry. I live in Phoenix and came to visit my daughter (and her husband a doctor at the medical center!). On the flight here, I broke my favorite necklace. My daughter said we could go to her favorite jewelry store and get it fixed while I was here. At home, I have a lot of trouble finding a real jewelry store that does repairs. They all "sell" jewelry but nobody seems to work on jewelry. We were greeted at the door with smiles and Patty fixed my chain the same day. And..get this, they only charged me $12.50! I think I will save all my jewelry repairs (and future purchases!) until I am in Tupelo. Here's a big hug for the Diamond Divas at Way-Fil Jewelry!

When you need a quick fix for almost anything, go to Way-Fil Jewelry. Sometimes, I think store forget who is paying them to be there, but not Way-Fil. They fixed my eyeglasses while I waited and even helped me dial Momma (my wife) so she wouldn't worry about me. Thank you so much.

So, think about your insurance coverage for your jewelry and call us for an appointment today. You do know you can stay with your jewelry when we are appraising it, don't you? Just make an appointment, allow twenty to thirty minutes for each item. Even though I think appraising is fasinating, you might want to bring a book or magazine.
We are celebrating our 62nd year of serving Northeast Mississippi and this is my 32nd year of being a part of the Way-Fil family.
